Congressional Staffers Visit JTF-CS

FORT EUSTIS, Va. — Congressional staffers got a look at response operations during a visit to Joint Task Force Civil Support May 30. Members of Senator Mark Warner’s (D-VA) staff, Caroline Wadhams, senior advisor on national security and VA affairs, and Zach Lewis, Defense legislative coordinator, received briefings on command operations in the unit’s air beam tent.

JTF-CS Chief Petty Officer wins senior leadership award

FORT EUSTIS, Va. — Navy Chief Petty Officer Benjamin Allen, the non-commissioned officer in charge of current operations for Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS), accepted the 2017 Senior Non Commissioned Officer (NCO) of the Year Award during a ceremony at U.S. Northern Command headquarters at Peterson Air Force Base, Colorado, April 4, 2018. To win this award,

Carol Gallant (right), wife of Maj. Gen. Richard Gallant, commander of Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS), thanks Darlene Morgan (left), the community readiness specialist at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, for her assistance with the Key Spouse Group at JTF-CS during a tour and group meeting at Mullan Hall last month. The Key Spouse Group is a commander's program that is primarily used in the Air Force. According to the US Air Force Services website, it's an official unit/family program designed to enhance readiness and establish a sense of community. After a tour of the headquarters, the spouses sat down to discuss the current group and where it is headed. A new command team is coming in July. Along with that big change, several key leaders are moving on to their next duty stations. That means more volunteers are needed to continue a program that the Gallant family agrees is critical to the command.

Eustis, engages with interagency attendees in the audience of the 6th Annual Joint Civil & DoD CBRN Symposium held March 5-6, 2018 at the Mary M. Gates Learning Center in Alexandria, Va. Task Force speaks to CBRNE Community at Symposium

Alexandria, Va. — Responding to a crisis is inherently complex, so responders of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear community come together at different venues to discuss such challenges and ways to overcome them. One such event was the 6th Annual Joint Civil & DoD CBRN Symposium held March 5-6, 2018 at the Mary M. Gates Learning Center in
