RICHMOND, Va. - Members of Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) load vehicles onto a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III as part of a command-wide mobility exercise. During the evolution, JTF-CS members loaded response vehicles onto a Boeing C-17 Globemaster III and flew to a nearby airport, simulating a response effort. The purpose of the exercise was to increase the command’s capability to safely and efficiently deploy during a catastrophic event. When directed, JTF-CS is ready to respond in 24 hours to provide command and control of 5,200 federal military forces located at more than 36 locations throughout the nation acting in support of civil authority response operations to save lives, prevent further injury, and provide critical support to enable community recover.
