Joint Base Langley-Eustis - Luis Garcia, the Federal Emergency Management Agency Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) branch support chief. Addresses a crowd of disaster response officials during exercise Vista Proximity II, a tabletop exercise created by USNORTHCOM that brings together national, regional and local partners to work through and discuss the combined large-scale response for a biological incident within the continental US. The exercise, held June 25-26, 2019 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis was an opportunity to develop communication and create a bridge for smooth planning between agencies that will partner together in the event of a public health emergency. “I think bringing this many agencies together to really break down to discuss our responses to these types of incidents is a critically important operation,” said Garcia.” Having an opportunity to discuss those issues and challenges that we normally would not have had is incredibly beneficial to our disaster response efforts.” (Photo by U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt.
