JTF-CS hosts exercise Vista Proximity II at Joint Base Langley-Eustis
Joint Base Langley-Eustis - U.S. Army Maj. Gen. William “Bill” Hall, commander, Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) poses with representatives from over 30 emergency response agencies at the completion of exercise Vista Proximity II, a tabletop exercise created by USNORTHCOM that brings together national, regional and local partners to work through and discuss the combined large-scale response for a biological incident within the continental US. The exercise, held June 25-26, 2019 at Joint Base Langley-Eustis was an opportunity to develop communication and create a bridge for smooth planning between agencies that will partner together in the event of a public health emergency. “For the purpose of this TTX, we explored planning possibilities and gained additional situational understanding of the biological threat domain and we identified specific capabilities to support anticipated mission assignments from our Lead Federal Agencies,” said (Far Right) Maj. Marcus Grant of Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS), who planned the exercise. “There was great discussion of our whole of government response protocols, anticipated trigger points, and critical decisions that we anticipate will generate request for assistance from the CBRN Response Enterprise (CRE).
