FORT EUSTIS, Va. - Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Albert A. Givens demonstrates how to set up a Mobile User Objective Service (MUOS), SATCOM system at Joint Task Force Civil Support (JTF-CS) on Nov. 19, 2018. The MUOS system enables military members to communicate in a crisis response. The JTF-CS anticipates either a large part of the civil communications infrastructure in and around catastrophic CBRN events will be destroyed, damaged, saturated or a combination of making reliance on the MUOS tactical system a mission-critical solution. When directed, JTF-CS is ready to respond in 24 hours to provide command and control of 5,200 federal military forces located at more than 36 locations throughout the nation in support of civil authority response operations to save lives, prevent further injury and provide critical support to enable community recovery.
