DETROIT, Mi. - Members of Joint Task Force Civil Support discuss the challenges of operating within an urban environment from a rooftop of a skyscraper during the 2018 DoD Support of Civil Authorities (DSCA)/Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Dense Urban Terrain Training Tactical Exercise Without Troops exercise held August 21-23 in Detroit Michigan. The task force members were among some of the 150 participants from more than 50 organizations of the interagency, to include local, state, federal and international partners. The attendees studied the layout of the city and discussed the challenges of conducting urban search and rescue and other DSCA rescue efforts in a city such as Detroit, which ranks third in the state for population density. The training was held by the 46th Military Police Command, Michigan Army National Guard, Command and Control CBRN Response Element – Bravo and included other key training stops within the city landscape.
